Tiger House is a converted 110 year-old green barn-house on the grounds of the beautiful Arapata homestead. Smothered in ivy and surrounded by lush countryside, it’s a serene and unique setting situated on the foothills of Havelock North just 3km from the village.
It’s far enough away to feel like you’ve escaped the hustle and bustle and close enough to pop in for bubbles and oysters at Mary’s.
The region is the fruit bowl of the country, as such you'll find amazing wineries and restaurants dotted throughout the area, also attracting walkers, bikers and naturists to the cycle trails, walking tracks, beaches and the Te Mata Peak national park boasting sweeping views from the ocean to the ranges.
Tiger House Hermitage sleeps two people in a queen-sized bed in the main studio space of the converted barn-house. I have also coverted the stables which is a separate sleep-out from the main barn with a queen-sized bed - A cosy and cute little sleep out for an additional couple or friends! Both bedrooms share the bathroom inside the main studio space.
With its indoor fire, outdoor bath, large plunge pool, fully equipped kitchen, big walk-in dressing-room, European country vibe and quirky fit out, Tiger House is something really quite special.

Tiger House itself is full of amazing antique furniture and a big comfy cloud of a bed. It has everything thing you need for a relaxing stay. The outside bath is a particular favorite.

The unique and eclectic style makes you feel instantly relaxed and as if you are in a different country - less than 10 minutes from great restaurants and shops in nearby Havelock North. The plunge pool was great, as was the outdoor bath and loved the large open bathroom and dressing room ... felt very resort like.
